Nicolas Jayo

coach - CF-L1

I’m Nic Jayo, a CF-L1. I started CrossFit when I moved up to the area from Twin Falls in 2020. I fell in love with
it from day 1. Physical fitness and exercise has always been a big part of my life but a person can only do so
many bi and back days. The introduction to CrossFit for me was amazing. I enjoy what defines CrossFit:
constantly varied functional movements at a high intensity. The competitive nature of it is also a plus. BUT the
community is what really grabs me and what it’s been all about. I’ve met some amazing people and gained
many friends from my experience in this CrossFit world. I live that dog dad life with two golden retrievers. Every
day I strive to make them proud of me. I love being with my family and friends. I don’t do much of it but I really
enjoy traveling and camping. Don’t get me wrong I also enjoy and appreciate a lazy weekend on the couch to
recharge a bit! I am excited to be a part of the SideYard staff and community here in Middleton.

Lindsay Batie

CF-L1 - MOM FIT

I’m Willa! I’ve been married to my husband Zack for 9 years and we have two boys. I started CrossFit when my first son was a little over a year old. CrossFit changed my perception of my body and for the first time in my life I was focused on strength and performance rather than just physical appearance. It continues to make me feel strong and empowered as a mom of young kids. I’m passionate about helping other moms feel strong in every season of motherhood and encouraging fitness in their kids as well. I’ve been at a few different gyms since starting CrossFit and Side Yard by far has felt the most like home. I’ve learned so much as an athlete and been so grateful to be a coach here!

CF-L1 - CrossFit Kids

I was just looking for something to replace my running habit during the cold, Idaho winter months, when I anxiously walked into my first CrossFit class at SideYard three years ago. What was meant to be a temporary stand-in to keep me in shape through winter, CrossFit has become one of the best parts of my (almost) daily routine. As an athlete, I love the encouraging community, challenging workouts, and quality coaching of CrossFit. I value showing up each morning at the gym to an expertly programmed workout and a knowledgeable coach present and ready to give instruction and motivation.

Since that first day of CrossFit, I have become a Crossfit L-1 and CrossFit Kids trainer. As a trainer, I love helping athletes of all ages progress in their skills and meet their individual goals. It is important to me that everyone feels welcomed and accepted, as well as challenged and successful, when they leave class, regardless of their skill level or background.

I am a mom of two amazing kids and a student in the Physical Therapist Assistant program at the College of Western Idaho. CrossFit has replaced my running addiction.

Amanda Smith

Head Coach

I’m Amanda Smith, a CF-L1 coach at SideYard Crossfit and also a certified surgical first assistant. I first got into CrossFit after a friend begged me for weeks to go, and after many failed attempts; I finally showed up. I won’t lie, I couldn’t even finish the workout that day and I was so sore afterwards that I wasn’t looking forward to going back and the only reason I did was because I didn’t want them to think I was a quitter (I literally laugh about this now). At the time, I was completely unaware of the profound impact it would have on my life. I have seen such a positive change in not only my physical strength, but my mindset as well. It has taught me that I can do hard things and whatever I put my mind to and anytime you start to doubt yourself; you have a pretty awesome group of people supporting and cheering you on.

What I love most about coaching is seeing people grow and accomplish things that they thought were impossible. I love when someone gets their first pull up or first box jump and just being able to see how excited they are and know I was able to be apart of that. It’s a very rewarding feeling seeing people accomplish their goals!

In my spare time I love spending time with my menagerie of pets, anything outdoors, barrel racing, audiobooks, and food!

Rachel Franks

General Manager - CF-L1 - Olympic Lifting

Hello, my name is Rachel Franks and I’m addicted to CrossFit. I was never an amazing athlete or very competitive growing up, just your average high school basketball/volleyball girl who did basically nothing consistent again until after babies. Which surprised the heck out of me when I finally discovered and fell in love with CrossFit in 2015. Where was CrossFit when I was in high school!?? Since then, I’ve been had most of those years (plus 50 lbs shed forever!) here with SideYard. This addiction has become my passion that I hope to pass on to everyone who walks in the door! I’m on this journey with you too, and I’m so thankful for this community and the support system that we have here!

Morgan

CrossFit Level 1

Hi I’m Morgan!  I’ve been married to my husband Jake for 7 years and am a proud mother of four wonderful kids.  I started CrossFit at SideYard about two and half years ago after a friend talked me into trying it.  I was a little intimidated at first but I soon found out what a supportive, welcoming, and energizing community SideYard is.  I loved being apart of it so much I decided to become a coach myself!  Through this journey I’ve come to appreciate all the things my body can and is capable of doing.  I also have my kids apart of the program as well!

KATHLEEN kirby (KZ)

CF-L1 - MOM FIT

I discovered CrossFit 7+ years ago with a friend who brought me to this gym at the perfect time in my life. I loved being athletic. I danced, ran track, and raced cross country all through high school. As those things were coming to an end, CrossFit established itself as a necessity to my physical and mental well-being. The last few years have taught me so much! In March 2019 I became a certified CrossFit Level-1 trainer, And then had to learn to exercise through a serious injury, and then through pregnancy. I am now learning to be a CrossFit mom while also being an athlete and coach. My husband and I live in Wilder with our baby girl and 2 dogs.

SHARENE CAMPBELL

OWNER, CROSSFIT L-2 TRAINER

Owner of SideYard CrossFit and instigator of health and life changes.  Who am I?  Great question as we are all on a journey of discovery and finding our purpose right?  Well in facts only: I am a mother of 2 amazing adults, I am a daughter, a sister of two (since passed) siblings, a Registered Nurse, a L2 Certified CrossFit Trainer, and a crazy self-employed, small business owner.  In 2013, I found CrossFit and fell in love.  Since then I have pursued education and experience to pass a long to anyone who wants a serious change in their life.  I work part-time in the hospital because I worked darn hard for that nursing degree, but I really actually dislike the healthcare system, like REALLY dislike it.  No one tells you that you can fix almost every ailment or disease by changing your eating and lifestyle.  It’s hard though.  That’s why we’ve adopted a saying that “we can do hard things” at SideYard. We help you form the lifelong habits that change your future! So welcome to and enjoy your new 2nd Home!
